North Bali comprises the areas around Lovina, Pemuteran and Menjangan Island on the northwestern coast. The latter is famous for its diving spots, whilst Lovina is well-known for its dolphin watching tours.
Lovina accommodation includes Lovina hotels, Lovina villas and many friendly guest houses. Most hotels in Lovina Bali can be found either along the main road, near or on the black sand beach. Pemuteran hotels are further to the west of Lovina and are mostly located on the beach. Almost all of them offer good facilities and dive centers. Pemuteran is an excellent place for snorkeling and it`s also the site for an award-winning artificial reef. A must visit! Another 10km westwards, visitors will reach the area of the West Bali National Park, which includes Menjangan Island. This paradise for divers is accessible either from the national park`s visitor center or from some of the Menjangan hotels nearby.
This area offers the visitor a glimpse of rural life in Bali. It is worthwhile to rent a car to explore these still rather off-the-beaten track locations.
